Run by Lucy Jane Ceramics.
This is a 3-part series. Participants will need to sign up for all three workshops.
Spread over three sessions, this handbuilding course is designed to progress your pottery skills, allowing you to design and make a project of your choice.
The first session will focus on learning and becoming confident in applying the coil building technique. During this class you'll use the technique to create up to two vessels. You'll learn how to make and attach handles, alter shapes and apply different surface decoration methods.
The second class will focus on a project of your choice. You'll be encouraged to use and develop the skills learnt in the first session to make your chosen project with the guidance and assistance of the ceramics tutor.
The final class will follow a few weeks later, after your work has been bisque fired. In this class, we'll learn all about glazing - types of glazes, methods of application etc - and you'll be able to glaze the work you produced in the first two sessions. Your work will then be fired and returned to you approximately two weeks later.
